Salmon price slump halts Norway export boom

The Norwegian seafood export boom which has been making headlines for the past few years has ground to a halt. Figures from the country’s Seafood Council, published today, show that overseas sales in the first six months of this year totalled NOK 80.6 billion (£6bn) but fell by NOK 1.6 billion (£118m)

Lerøy commissions escaped fish count

The Lerøy Seafood group is taking a number of measures to study the impact of fish escapes in various rivers in Norway.
The move follows the closure of sports fishing activities at more than 30 of the country’s rivers last week and a serious escape incident at one of Lerøy’s own fish farms in the past few weeks.
