NRS executive switches from salmon to cod farming

Arve Olav Lervåg (pictured) takes up his new role next week, succeeding Tsjipke Deuzeman, who is joining the fresh-water aquaculture company Svåholmen AS as General Manager in early January.

Arve Olav Lervåg has worked in aquaculture for almost three decades, most recently as Executive Director of Aquaculture at Norway Royal Salmon (NRS) which is now part of the SalMar group.

Prior to his role at NRS, he spent 10 years at Lerøy, where he held positions as Production Coordinator and Production Manager. Lervåg holds a degree from Molde University College, where he studied aquaculture and economics.

Norcod’s main fish farms are located in mid-Norway. The company recently reported a large increase in third quarter revenues and its harvest but due heatwave problems during the summer its losses were also high. Exports have increased tenfold over the past year.
