The Faroese and Scottish salmon farmer is launching the shop bakkafrostshop.com for consumers in Denmark, the Faroes and the United States to buy premium salmon products directly from the producer.
In connection with the opening – and as part of Black Friday – Bakkafrost was offering a special discount of 25% off all items.

Bakkafrost said the opening offers are only valid for a limited time, but have come in just as the Christmas shopping rush gets under way.
The website also highlights Bakkafrost’s environmental credentials describing itself as the leading producer of superior quality salmon from the Faroe Islands and Scotland.
It says: “We offer a wide range of healthy and nutritious salmon products from our own facilities.”
It also points out that compared to some of the largest sources of non-marine protein such as pork, beef and lamb, farmed salmon is one of the most eco-efficient and sustainable forms of protein available.
It says: “The salmon industry has the lowest carbon footprint relative to the five largest sources of animal protein with 3.24 CO² per kg product.
“In 2023, Bakkafrost’s recycled bio-waste provided 1,003 households with power and heating on the Faroe Islands.”
