Knut Nesse, CEO of the global aquaculture services business AKVA Group, has acquired 50,505 shares in the company for around NOK 3.3 million (£242,000).
The deal was carried out through Nesse’s personal investment company Nesse & Co AS.
Following this transaction, he now holds directly or indirectly 245,954 shares in the company and 80,000 share options.
The AKVA group is the world’s largest supplier of solutions and services to aquaculture with global markets stretching from Norway and Scotland to China, Canada and Australia plus several other countries.
Knut Nesse has been the Chief Executive Officer at AKVA Group ASA since 2019 and an independent director at Nordic Aqua Partners AS since 2020.
Previously, he served as the Chairman & Chief Executive Officer at Nutreco NV from 2012 to 2018 and as the Chief Executive Officer at Skretting AS from 2006 to 2012.
After experiencing hard times in recent years, during which layoffs were announced, due to inflationary pressures and confusion around Norway’s controversial salmon tax, the AKVA Group had a much better year in 2024, according to Nesse.
He said last year that it was vital for both Norway and the group to create growth and added that AKVA has introduced a number of innovations and technological developments.
Nesse told the Norwegian newspaper Jærbladet: “The contracts have been signed, and we are confident in the growth that will come. We can already state that the turnover in 2025 will be approximately four billion kroner. Never before has the number been higher.”
