Looking Back: Mermaid hitches a ride

Cartoons were a regular feature of Fish Farmer for many years. This one, by Les Barton, could be seen as a comment on the growing specialist fish transport sector in the haulage industry, which developed to meet the needs of fish farming customers. The nature of some of the cartoons from those days would probably rule them out from being published in these more enlightened times!
