If you thought offshore fish farming was a new concept, think again. Back in 1997 Fish Farmer was carrying this advertisement for “the most stable and reliable working platform in rough seas”.

The Jordan Marine Industries floating open sea fish farms featured high wave resistance and 100 sq metres of working area.

Jordan is no longer a big name in the field of aquaculture although there appears to be a connected company in the Middle East manufacturing aluminium boats.
