In aquaculture, gas separation equipment plays a critical role in maintaining optimal water quality by regulating the concentrations of gases like oxygen, nitrogen, and carbon dioxide in the water. Proper gas management is essential for the health and growth of aquatic species.

Gas separation equipment, such as oxygen generators or membrane oxygenators, is used to increase the dissolved oxygen levels in the water. These systems separate oxygen from ambient air and inject it into the water to maintain high oxygen concentrations.

Membrane-based oxygenators use specialized membranes to selectively separate oxygen from nitrogen in the air, increasing the dissolved oxygen in the water without introducing excessive nitrogen.

PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption) oxygen generators use adsorbent materials to selectively capture nitrogen from compressed air, delivering concentrated oxygen into aquaculture tanks or ponds.

Gas separation equipment is also used to manage levels of nitrogen and carbon dioxide in recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) aquaculture.
