Nor-Fishing latest covid casualty

Nor-Fishing 2020 in Trondheim has been cancelled, after it\’s organisers issued a press release saying that they were pulling the plug on this year\’s event with a \’heavy heart\’.

In recent years the Norwegian event, which alternates with Aqua Nor, has attracted an increasing number of aquaculture clients, and the 2020 show would have been no exception. The organisers The Nor-Fishing Foundation did consider rescheduling the event, but said:

\’It has been considered to postpone this year\’s exhibition till May 2021. The feedback from the exhibitors shows that it is not relevant for a large number of the exhibitors. In addition, it will clash with many other trade fairs nationally and internationally. The Foundation has consequently concluded that a postponement to May 2021 is not a viable option.\’

The Foundation is now looking at the possibility of organising a digital version of Nor-Fishing 2020. It has already been decided that the Student Day will be conducted as a webinar. There may be other parts of this year\’s exhibition that can also be carried out digitally. They will make an announcement shortly with more information on this.
