Aquafuture Spain moves to Vigo for 2025 – and is set to be bigger than ever

The 3rd Edition of the international aquaculture industry show, Aquafuture Spain, will take place over May 20 to 22, 2025, at the IFEVI exhibition centre in Vigo, in the north west of Spain’s Atlantic coast.

After two successful editions in Silleda, this benchmark event for aquaculture is preparing for its expansion, with the confirmation of 180 exhibitors, a 20% growth compared to the previous edition, with seven months to go before its celebration.

The move to Vigo represents an important step forward for Aquafuture Spain, as highlighted by Juan Lijó, director of the event, at the announcement for the 3rd edition: “The new venue will not only allow us to expand the fair to 16,000 m² of exhibition space, but its proximity to the airport and the city’s hotel capacity will reinforce the internationalisation of the show, attracting more exhibitors and visitors from around the world.”

For his part, Abel Caballero, Mayor of Vigo, expressed his satisfaction at hosting the only event of its kind in Spain, describing the project as “solid and with a great future”, while stressing the importance of consolidating its international character.

Aquafuture Spain, the only aquaculture show in Spain and the second largest in Europe, addresses aquaculture in its entirety, marine and continental, fish and molluscs (mussels, oysters, clams), as well as emerging challenges in algae farming.

In addition to the exhibition part, the fair will offer a complete conference programme with 25 speakers who will discuss current issues of relevance to the aquaculture industry. There will also be two rooms dedicated to commercial and research presentations, where 40 specialist talks will be held.

With its move to Vigo and a renewed offering, the organisers said Aquafuture Spain is reaffirming its position as a key meeting point for the international aquaculture industry, promoting innovation and sustainable development in the sector.
