Don’t miss our Land Based Strategy webinar

An aquaculture facility utilizing recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) for sustainable seafood production, reducing environmental impact (AI generated)

An impressive amount of investment is pouring into land based fish farming around the world, from Scandinavia and the Middle East to Florida and Japan. But can the technology and biology combine to ensure this industry has a profitable future?

Next week, in the latest in our Aqua Agenda series of webinars, we’ll be asking: How do the different land-based approaches – such as RAS or hybrid flow-through – stack up against each other? Will the investors putting their money into RAS grow-out around the world recoup their money? And could land-based farming have the capacity to break free from the limitations intrinsic in sea-based aquaculture? What are the opportunities and what might hold back the growth of this industry?

Our panel of experts is made up of:

  • Vincent Erenst, CEO of yellowtail RAS farmer The Kingfish Company;
  • Thue Holm, Managing Partner, Aquafounders Capital and a director of The Black Cod Company;
  • Paul Howes, Manager, Centre for Sustainable Aquatic Research, University of Swansea; and
  • Trond Schaug-Pettersen, CEO of Norwegian land-based fish farming company Salmon Evolution.

This free online event takes place on Wednesday 16 October 2024, 11.30am-12.30pm (British Summer Time). To register, just go online to our webinar page.
