New name and brand for ECMA awards

Seawork, the European commercial marine & workboats exhibition, has announced a new brand for its prestigious European Commercial Marine Awards (ECMAs). From next year’s event, taking place at Seawork 2025 in June next year, these will be known as the Seawork Awards.

The organisers, Mercator Media, said: “This exciting new chapter reflects Seawork’s commitment to innovation, industry excellence, and its strong connection to the global commercial marine sector.

“The rebranded Seawork Awards will continue to celebrate the outstanding achievements of individuals, businesses, and vessels that are making significant contributions to the commercial marine industry. This change aims to align the awards more closely with the Seawork brand, reinforcing its position as a leading platform for showcasing cutting-edge technologies, sustainable practices, and exemplary achievements in maritime operations.”

Key Categories of the Seawork Awards 2025 include:

  • Innovation Awards: celebrating groundbreaking technologies and forward-thinking projects that are transforming the maritime industry;
  • The Maritime Sustainability Award;
  • The Maritime Civils Best Project Award;
  • Young Person’s Development Award, sponsored by Svitzer;
  • The Maritime Professional of the Year Award; and
  • The Lifetime Achievement Award, sponsored by Mercator Media & Maritime Journal.

Mercator said: “The Seawork Awards will continue to uphold the high standards set by the ECMAs, while enhancing their relevance by expanding categories to reflect the growing importance of sustainability, innovation, and diversity in the sector.”
