Barramundi recruits Hong Kong businessman to its board

The Singapore-based Barramundi Group Ltd has appointed Hong Kong financier Eric Tsang as an independent board director.

Barramundi Group farms the fish of the same name, also known as Asian sea bass. It has operations in Singapore and is investing heavily in Brunei, following the company’s withdrawal from production in Australia last year.

The company said Eric Tsang brings over two decades of extensive experience in institutional banking, investment management and entrepreneurship across the Asia Pacific region.

Currently serving as Chief of Staff at a single family office in Hong Kong, Tsang also oversees private equity, venture capital, and private markets investments.

The company said: “His strategic vision and leadership in cross border business developing and managing institutional relationships will be invaluable to Barramundi Group Ltd.

“With a career marked by significant achievements, including managing relationships with sovereign institutions, asset managers, and banks, Eric has a proven track record of producing results and demonstrating leadership in financial operations and strategic advisory. His expertise spans the direct origination of capital markets businesses, structured products, asset management, and real estate financing.

“The Board believes that Eric’s appointment will greatly contribute to the ongoing restructuring and future growth of the company.”
