Crown Estate Scotland names new Corporate Affairs chief

Crown Estate Scotland has appointed Hamish Macdonell as the organisation’s Head of Corporate Affairs.

He was previously Director of Strategic Engagement with trade body Salmon Scotland, and he is a former Scottish Political Editor with The Times.

Hamish Macdonell said: “I am delighted to be joining Crown Estate Scotland as the organisation’s new Head of Corporate Affairs. As a former Director of Salmon Scotland, I understand the role salmon farming plays and the relationship that exists between aquaculture companies and Crown Estate Scotland.

“I look forward to working with a terrific team at Crown Estate Scotland for the benefit of rural and coastal communities all over the country.”

Crown Estate Scotland manages and invests in land, coastal and sea assets around Scotland and in Scottish waters, in the public interest. It is the lead body licensing offshore developments including marine renewable energy and fish farming, as well as a range of rural projects on land.
