Preparations are moving fast as vessels, speakers and delegates confirm for this year’s Speed@Seawork, partnered with the Society of Marine Industries (SMI).

The event, which showcases fast working boats and demonstrates the latest maritime technology and equipment, takes place on Monday 10 June 2024, just ahead of the Seawork trade show.

The venue for Speed@Seawork is The Royal Ocean Racing Club, Cowes, Isle of Wight. This is the 5th edition for the event and vessel exhibitors include:

Zodiac Milpro – recently received a UK MOD order for 24 Intercept and Escort Craft
Proteum – propulsion experts
Berthon – defence and commercial division
Scania – the ‘just launched’ first hybrid fast vessel powered by Scania
Evoy – electric vessel
British Army – Combat Support Boat
17 Port & Maritime Regiment – Army workboat

Speed@Seawork is sponsored by OSI Maritime Systems and equipment exhibitors include Axnes and Marlborough Communications.

Speakers at the Speed event include representatives from the UK Ministry of Defence Procurement team, NSO (National Shipbuilding Office) and MAIB (Marine Accident Investigation Branch).

Delegates attending the event are expected to include: Defence attachés, Royal Navy Command, British Army – 17 Port & Maritime Regiment, Home Office, Border Force, Blue Light Services, ABP (Associated British Ports) and the Metropolitan Police.

The organisers, Mercator Media, say RORC’s new clubhouse facilities above the berths at Trinity Landing, with views across the Solent, are the perfect base to demonstrate specialist fast craft and equipment.
