Former Nutreco boss Nesse new AKVA chair

FORMER Nutreco CEO Knut Nesse has been appointed as the new chairman of AKVA\’s board, taking over from today.

He replaces Hans Kristian Mong who has stepped down from the role after leading the group’s board for more than six years, the company said. Mong will continue as a board member of the group.

Nesse has been a member of the board since May 2019 and has broad international experience from management positions within the seafood business.

He served six years as CEO of Skretting, from 2006 to 2012, and six years as CEO of Nutreco, until 2018.

Mong said: ‘We are very pleased to welcome Knut as the new chairman for AKVA Group. Knut has extensive international experience from the global aquaculture sector and with a very good network.

‘I’m very confident that he will add value and support the continuous growth of AKVA Group.’

Nesse said: ‘I have known Hans Kristian and AKVA Group for many years. I have the highest respect for his passion for the aquaculture and fishery sector and I’m truly impressed by the development of AKVA Group as a leading technology company.
