AQUACULTURE feed executive Einar Wathne is moving from his current role at Cargill after 32 years in the sector.
He will stay with the company for the time being but switch from president and group leader at Cargill Aqua Nutrition to take up a temporary position as head of seafood in Cargill Animal Nutrition.
Once he has helped to develop a strategy to expand Cargill’s seafood success, he will leave the group, according to reports yesterday.
‘Einar’s deep knowledge and expertise has been transformational and has helped position Cargill a leader in aquaculture,’ said Cargill in a statement.
‘We look forward to tapping into his expertise to help Cargill explore opportunities to expand its presence, influence and success across the seafood value chain.’
Wathne will be replaced at Cargill Animal Nutrition by Adriano Marcon, who joined the group in 2011.
Wathne, who headed the Norwegian feed business Ewos until its takeover by Cargill in 2015, said he is choosing to step down to pursue other interests and spend more time with his family.
