Young's in fish cake recall
YOUNG\’S Seafood is recalling some of its Chip Shop range fish cakes because they have been found to contain plastic and metal. The Food Standards Agency says the products are \’unsafe to eat\’. The recall applies only to packs of six fish cakes sold in the frozen food chains Farmfoods and Heron Foods. No other Young\’s products are involved.
Young\’s said that only a small number of fish cakes were affected, but had decided on the recall as a precaution. It added: \’Those fish cakes which are thought to be affected have the production codes AAL 7209K, AAL 7209L, AAK 7222J & AAL 7222K. The \’best before date\’ can be found on the side of the pack. Packs have been on sale at Farmfoods and Heron Foods. Customers are advised not to consume the product.
\’We apologise to retailers and our customers for any inconvenience caused by this voluntary recall. The safety and quality of our products is highly important to us and we take all issues regarding the production of our food extremely seriously.\’
The Food Standards Agency has advised the public: \’If you have bought any of the above product do not eat it.\’
