TWO salmon farm bosses have been named as finalists in the Scottish Institute of Director awards. Craig Anderson, of the Scottish Salmon Company, and Loch Duart’s Alban Denton are among four contenders in the Director of the Year – Large Business category.
Anderson is also in the running for the Regional Director of the Year prize (for Edinburgh, Lothians and Borders), and Denton makes the Highlands and Islands shortlist.
The winners across nine categories, as well as the five regional directors of the year, will be named at a ceremony on March 22 at the Crowne Plaza Glasgow. The shortlist of 37 was selected from some 150 entries.
‘The Director of the Year Awards are an excellent opportunity to honour those at the top of Scotland\’s businesses,’ said David Watt, executive director of the Institute of Directors in Scotland.
‘They are leaders, and their skills are vital to building Scotland\’s future, particularly during economic and political uncertainty.
‘These leaders are at the top of their game, and have much to share, not only within the confines of their business or sector, but also to society as a whole.
‘The lessons they have learned along the way can contribute to finding solutions to wider social issues.’
